Why I Chose Tana, and How Tana is Pioneering a New Paradigm for Work (A Tana Romance)

This week, we have all witnessed greatness.

This marks the beginning of a new chapter, but also the end of an era for Tana. An era that started when Tana was first announced in 2022.

I can vividly remember the sheer excitement in my young face when I used Tana for the first time, back in December 2022.

"This is the most fantastic tool I've ever used in my life."

• But why did I feel that way?
• What was so special about Tana?
• Why is this era coming to an end?

Well, this is a story about how Tana is pioneering an entire new paradigm for how modern humans work.

For that matter, we need some quick context...

From 2019 to 2022, I was a master's student researching about state-of-the-art technologies for integrating AI (or NLP) into Knowledge Management systems and note-taking apps.

Trust me, this was NOT a common thing back in 2022, let alone in 2019.

But it was definitely fun.

My research took me on a journey.

I had the honor to study key thought leaders in the field of Knowledge Management, such as Vannevar Bush, and Douglas Engelbart ... and ... also the future of Knowledge Management, with concepts from Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Graphs, and Software Engineering.

In November 2022, I submitted my Master's Thesis connecting AI and PKM.

I designed and coded a system that used AI to create an Interconnected Knowledge Graph based on any set of Highlights in Readwise, by creating semantic relationships between concepts, highlights, and authors.

And here is where things get WILD.

Few weeks later, I got access to Tana, and it had the EXACT features and functionalities I had explored in my Master's Thesis, based on:

• Artificial Intelligence

AND, I soon noticed the founders shared a common vision with Douglas Engelbart and Vannevar Bush as well...

Crazy, right!?

Everything came together in a magical way.

A mix of Software Engineering concepts with a Knowledge Graph data structure... With a powerful vision for collaboration and collective knowledge? Tana was the perfect combination to integrate Artificial Intelligence with PKM.

I couldn't have pictured this in my dreams... yet here it was, right in front of me.

A match made in heaven.

Now I have a confession to tell you...

It's been a couple years since I don't believe in coincidences anymore, but rather, I now believe in synchronicities and in a higher-order of events that are inherently connected.

This means it was no coincidence that I studied the EXACT same paradigm that Tana was bringing to the world for the first time. It was meant to be that way. I believe I was already accessing the frequency, energy and transmission of the ideas behind Tana, even before it was announced or launched.

Now back to that opening question: "Why did I feel Tana was so fantastic?"

And it's simple. I knew Tana was made for me.

I knew it.
